During the Korean War, more than 1,000,000 people were separated from their family.
They always missed each other and wished for unification.

In 1983, after 30 years of truce, finally a reunion of separated families was made for the first time.
For KBS(Korea’s broad casting system), they filmed that moment and broadcast it about 138 days nonstop live show.
It becomes our UNESCO Heritage ‘the Memory of the World”
The song “lost 30 years” was played as a back ground music for that TV show.
It was very special because it was mega hit in both South and North Korea.
So it was made as a Monument.
